Born in the Netherlands where a love for biking is fostered early on, Founder and Owner Oscar V. Mulder was determined as a young parent to cultivate an appreciation for adventurous learning in his son, Sebastiaan.
Inspired by traditional Dutch bikes, Kinderfeets is a play on words for the Dutch word “kinderfiets,” which translates to “child’s bike.”
At Kinderfeets, we believe that a life without training wheels is a life fully explored – it’s a journey bravely ventured, a pursuit of freedom and a quest for independence. For a child to explore the world on their own is a courageous choice – serendipitously guiding themselves toward self-assurance and accomplishment!
Two brothers, on an adventure together. Folko is the oldest, and is the founder of the Abel concept. A friend of his told him about how a few pieces of plastic used in farming had kept his children busy for days – working hard to build an amazing tent. Folko was captivated by the idea of being able to design a tent which would not just be to play in, but more especially to be played WITH. He tested ideas for months. He started out with paper models, and many, many fabric models followed. Searching for the perfect shapes, and proportions for the fabric sheets. Which shapes were best, and how many of each shape were needed to create the most possibilities? How could he create something which offered so many options that you could never get bored of it?
Every block is made with love and by hand from a piece of beech wood. Mother Nature has decorated them with a beautiful drawing. Abel Blocks can be greatly used to advance fine motor skills, concentration, perseverance, creativity and fantasy. It is also fantastic game material to teach children to work together.
